Kolkata Musicians Come Together To Create Music Of Hope During The Covid19 Crisis - 'Phirte Hobe'

Produced by Naveen Bhandari of Amara Muzic in association with Black Chilles Entertainment the new song ‘Phirte Hobe’ is special as it celebrates the spirit of life.

‘Phirte Hobe’ - means, ‘I’ll have to come back …’ - using this simple phrase creatively the song has brilliantly captured the essence of life and the true spirit that pushes all of us to come back to life.

Excerpts from our chat with the director duo of this music project, Meenakshii and Abhishek Roy

What inspired you to create this lovely music piece?

This song is an attempt to bring back the spirit of life through the Covid19 pandemic and this long lockdown. We understand a nationwide lockdown for these many days is depressing for human mind and soul.

We believe, life will change beyond pandemic, and a better life is waiting for all of us.

That’s what is mentioned in the scriptures. Krishna mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita, good times, bad times, sad times, times of crisis will arise just the way seasons do. And they shall also pass just the way the seasons do.

We added the verse from the Bhagavad-Gita: ‘Yada yada hi dharmasya…’ in the song – and truly speaking that was our inspiration.

What is the message behind the shlokas of Bhagwad Gita in this song?

When dharma declines (not just religion but righteousness), kindness and humanity declines. When evil arises in the mind, the soul tells us what to do. Our sense of right and wrong is activated. People who ignore it, will have to suffer the consequences because this happens for the protection of the people with good ideals, good behavior.

The situation we are facing today, the way we are isolated from each other is a time that is designed for us for self realization. We all need to go through this process and then each one of us needs to say to herself / himself - ‘I’ll have to come back.’

We can bring positive change in our lives with the right thought and action. And then we can create a better future for ourselves and for the generations to come.
